I don’t know how to pour this feeling outside my brain, with all these words and imgs I can represent, and sometime I don’t even know the feeling whether is mine or not.
I have very difficult feeling about Japan, not all from my memories of being very young child, and try to have a new life by leaving that country, and wish be back someday in the future, to see my mother again; but also, it always affects me during my growing till today; may be these memories just like an invisible ghost, hunting me, until the day I fade away.
For the Nature disasters, it probably brings more than 16 thousands lives with it. I once experienced the mass earthquake during my study in China, it was 2008, the destructive Wenchuan earthquake, I wasn’t around epicentre, however, these people who survived during that earthquake give me the fateful impression of the disasters. And for Japan, it is the seem.
The country is reimbursable, the city can be relocated, buildings can be reconstructed, streets can be cleared , scars can be faded …. but not human.
All these memories will live on with them, this sadness, this hurt, these scars in their hearts … will be grow up with children, and pass these transporters to the future generations, and live on.

This idea comes out when the drawing class on this Wednesday afternoon.
Our tutor, a very kind Lady ask us to draw something as perspective drawing or others.
Be honesty, I never attend any other professional drawing class besides these ‘Arts’ classes we asked to attend in elementary school and secondary schools, lol.
And I didn’t really understand what the ‘Perspective drawing’ is … anyway, as I’m not at drawing, sketching, or perspective … so I drew this instead.

I always want to draw something with very massive planet as background, so I pick up this idea.
It might seems a little old fashion a story happens on a secondary planet of giant planet, such as Titan, the secondary planet of Jupiter.
If it based on Titan, with very adorable weather, and small satellites, very suitable for human living, that is okay, but not as much as I expected.
There are two other things in my mind, at that time, one is an episode of Stargate: universe, season 1. They visited an planet which might build by a kind of high intelligence specie.
There is an tower, which might be an tool for star building. So I draw this ‘tower’ in the middle. However this planet won’t be a man made planet, but nature formed. The ‘Tower’ not an tool, but a huge spaceship, landing on the planet, and changed the weather for human living.
The second thing is from other artiest’ work, an broken moon above the city is very impressed, so in this sketch, there is an broken moon, it is the reason why the spaceship stopped its journey and landed on this planet, so, here it is.

This spaceship from a very very far arm of galaxy, an distanced star system, and an unknown planet.
It seems that, The mother planet would be distorted in a very near future, so the specie on that planet built this massive ship for get away from their home world.
The spaceship named ‘Ark’, as from holy bible.
They didn’t just built one Ark, but a few, this one is one of them, the No.12, therefor, it named as ‘Ark 12′.
When the ship dispatched, there were about 12 thousands of people abroad this ship, in aim to find a new world to survive.
But not every ship is dispatched, and not everyone is one its journey. some of them were not in time, some of them met accidents.
As the results, only a few ship leave from home world safe, and handed to different direction.

Based on the development of home world, and also consider the theory of relativity, lol, this ship cannot traveled fast than Light speed (FTL), and cannot jump from one point of space to another, or open an window of hyperspace, etc. but for the very long journey ahead, this specie are very clever to developed an system/engine, which can glide among stars as aerodone, it is also based on theory of relativity, the mass can bend the time and space, but as the cost, the space travel will take very very long time.

There is the begin of Ark 12.
The ship is 7km long, and the ‘wing’ (engine) is about 2km long, built data of this space is unknown, and age is unknown, based on the journey of this ship, it might be 10 thousand years old.
Except the living species, the data base of this ship carries as much as billions genetic information of different species.
And the ship carries three A.I core, one is based on organic computer, other two, one is logic computer, another is unknown, why three? because of such long journey, no one will survived in such a long time and keep the aim to looking for an new planet, so they used A.I as manger of the ship, governed them. Each of them have their own task, but when it happened to make decisions, they need to vote, 2/3 is passed. In this three A.I, there is only one of them has an biology interface, which is in order to communicate with human, and make them easier to accept it. other two, one is the primary computer for the ship, and another is unknown, it has no interface, and never appeared in an detected way, it seems an logic computer, but no one know what it is. Every A.I can self-evolution.

After 10 thousands years journey, the Ark 12 came to an star system, than because of the huge massive planet, its mass is very near a star, and the A.I consider it a star as set the Ark’s route.
The Ark 12 meet some serious problem, deathly. Might be the wings engine crashed on the moon?

Than, three A.I voted to landed on the very near planet. But the planet not very suitable for human, than, they deiced to change the environment for human.

The Ark landed on the planet, than, the wings engine crashed on the surface (that is why there were massif around the Ark), the thrusters made an tunnel to the planet core, to provide energy from core.
than the Ark started to change the weather, and because it there is not active of its lithosphere. The Ark is an two layer main gear structured, A.I raised the inner layer, which is for human living, and opened the outer layer for population increase. (Before it, the population was strict controlled on ship), so the Ark is like a tower, and the height for it is about 12km above surface.

might be 2000 years later, the weather is great for human, than, A.Is opened the ship to moving human out side, the main function of the Ark is stopped, but it still effects on planet’s environment, and searching for signs from other bother ‘n sister Ark, but no one now.

hundreds years after leaving Ark, human has built they own city around the Ark and other places, that is the capital of this planet.

Lucky Strike: Der Schwarm

After a long pitch phase which involved many different visual concepts, we came upon the idea to use the dynamic movement of the anchovy fish-swarm from the film “Finding Nemo” in this Lucky Strike cinema ad. We developed a special 3D software which could manipulate the masses of Luckys packs as a swarm. In this way, a hugely effective type-face animation reached the cinema.

This one not the very ‘Der Schwarm’ as I expected, I mean the swarm behavior as fish or birds, but the designer represent how other objects can be an swarm. (I’m writing as confuse myself, lol)
I don’t very like this one, but I think it still can learn a lots from this clip.

My team’s project this year is design a kind of  package for luxury sweets, there for, need to collect some reading materials for this project, here is a short personal view of luxury, very helpful.

For me, luxury is art, craft and sensory pleasure. It’s something that we understand. It may be difficult and challenging but it is at the heart of luxury.

Craftsmanship is the essential part of it all; it turns the idea into a product.
Luxury gives the third dimension, say the perfect scent.
Luxury is not show-off, it is internal. It gives you an experience in life, it adds to the joy of your day.
Luxury has become more abstract in the last ten years. It is clean air, green surroundings - and people take private planes to the far end of the earth to get these things. It is what people long to have.
Luxury is not off-the-peg. It is exactly what the customer wants, as if the customer is the only person that matters.
Luxury is perfect design and ambience. Many stores today are so unfriendly and unwelcoming. They are more temples to vanity than environments for shopping splendor (I went into a store on Montenapoleone, Milan, and felt intimidated – and I am a fashion editor, for heaven’s sake).

Lie to me is an American TV show, broadcast since 2009.In the show, Dr. Cal Lightman and his colleagues in The Lightman Group accept assignments from third parties, and assist in investigations, reaching the truth through applied psychology: interpreting microexpressions, through the Facial Action Coding System, and body language.

This title sequence shows different unscramble of body language, which tells the audience about the basic information about Dr.Lightman’s works, and the main theme of the show.

IMB review of A.I

A.I always one of my favorest sci-fi moive (and E.T!), very touch and very cure, although I only saw this moive for once when I was 13, but cry a lots (that is the main reason why I cannot bear for the second time!).

Fringe is another American TV show, the main theme of the show is about ‘fringe science’, which is considered as ‘questionable science’ as well. But for the science knowledge in reality, most of the science technology is reasonable but the stories and use of these technologies are far too ‘pseudoscience’.

Eureka is an sci-fi TV show which has broadcast since 2006 (4 season for now), the story based on an imaginary small town named Eureka. The town was setup by Einstein and other great scientists, in a aim to built an town full of scientists and researchers. The story begin with an American sheriff, Jack Carter visits the town accidental, and finds out the oddness of Eureka, the show is very interesting.

The word of Eureka comes from the ancient Greek philosopher Archimedes, when he think of the experiment of flotage when he took bath, he said ‘Eureka!’, which means ‘I find it’ or ‘I understand’.
